Alper
Project & Product Developer, Communications
Born in Istanbul on a rainy autumn morning in 1987, Alper was fond of nature ever since he was a child. A graduate of economics in bachelor, he has master’s degree in strategy science and innovation. In 2009, he started to develop himself in fields of ecology and permaculture, and become a permaculture designer, practitioner and trainer. He likes fluttering dry leaves, the wave in the sea, being a community and loves collective production. Also, he’s a bit of a daydreamer. He is interested in technology.
Alien, part-time vampire, adolescent writer.
PS: Consume under the supervision of a doctor.
Ahmet
Software Developer, Social Scientist
He likes dealing with software, but never gets used to syntax. As he is writing his Phd thesis, he always wants to postpone all life by using it as an excuse. For now, he codes in java and he is familiar with PLSQL, but he’s interested in learning new programming languages as well. He ran away from codes which were written in the 90s.
He worked for 5 years in big companies, in buildings where you can’t even open a window. Now he takes care of himself. He thinks he can work better in a place where windows can really be opened.
He does not like the production relations of companies in the system. He hates that everything is becoming incorporated. He becomes irritated by empty words such as performance, efficiency and sustainable economy.
Onur
Software Developer, Operations Research Analyst
Taking great pleasure in spending hours researching and developing new inventions, Onur has an industrial engineering bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in information technologies in management. Believing in the brotherhood of software languages; he fills his bathtub with Java, C #, C ++, VB and Typescript. He is passionate about open source code, and he’s honored to share information, as it’s the meaning of his name, and loves solidarity, likes being human (sometimes), cares about nature and balance, and is passionate about music and dance.
After safely completing his rotation around himself, he has entered the orbit of technical problems. In the context of hydroponic farming practices, he plays with the peak programming hobby set.
He has wide-ranging knowledge about operations research and mathematical programming expertise. He loves himself.
Necmi
Software Developer & Data Analyst
Always trying to understand the big picture in all projects he takes part, Necmi never hesitates to ask the question “why?”. He likes listening better than speaking. After 15 years of experience on back-end and infrastructure development projects, lately he started to get into data analytics and artificial intelligence concepts.
Can’t spend a day without a podcast. Plays daf amateurly but nobody listens. He likes to be frank. Condemns people who neglect sport and books.
Meriç
UX Designer
Being overly curious, Meriç wants to do everything. She is not only an industrial designer, but also an animator. She likes gamifying boring processes and designing new experiences. Loves making small products, gifts, motorcycles; woodworking, illustration, 3d and stop-motion animation, games… Aims to be a good craftswoman one day.
Likes working freelance, doing what she pleases with her time; being with her loved ones, volunteering, travelling, music and solidarity. Flirts with academia all the while criticising it relentlessly. Researches whatever she can find: Open innovation, games… Forms sentences that make no grammatical sense.
Spends an unhealthy amount of time watching birds.
Batu
Developer, Integration Expert, Performance Tuning
Batu spends most of his time in Java world. After bouncing between corporate and small businesses, and spending couple of years under the hood of R&D coast, he’s now swimming in a chaotic corporate sea. Batu is too particular in integrating several technologies and performance tuning subjects. Whether it’s professional or personal life, he likes to chat very much and he is also a fine listener (Off the record, he dislikes people who don’t know how to listen)
It is said that socializing is in his genes. Thus, by his very nature, he is cut out for collective working. Without a doubt, lego is his favorite NJT (Not Just a Toy). He’s improving his skill in plumbing and house electricity. Advanced in putting a baby to sleep fast.
His dream is to travel around with a non-modest caravan.
Barış
Requirement/Business Analyst
Gradute of IT department, he couldn’t really explain what he does to anyone, as he kept saying “something like a translator between developers and users”. Worked in corporations but didn’t worked well, so he quit. He met with Albatros as he was learning to code by himself, and he’s thankful for it.
He loves drawing on a whiteboard, as that’s the thing he misses the most about corporate life, codes apps in python that blows people’s mind off, does all the home repairs by himself, can’t survive without going camping, and believes in solidarity..
His biggest dream is to produce his own food, use his own software and build his own house.
